Christmas gift bags

I've been busy making Christmas gift bags for my market stall. These little bags are box shaped, made from squares of fabric and are fully lined with little handles - perfect for little treats to go inside! Each side of the bag and the base is approx 10cmx10cm.

More tea set pics

I made this tea set for my daughter for her 2nd birthday! She wears the apron all the time and loves bringing me cups of tea.

Tea set table cloths

I made these lovely tea set accessories  - they are so pretty! I've used patchwork and quilting skills to put the table cloths and napkins together. One set has a matching bag to keep an entire tea set in! I've also made from lavender filled tea bags with lavender picked from my own garden and dried in the shed! My friend, Kathy knits the little cakes too! Or I can make matching felt cupcakes...see my online shop for more tea set ideas!

Butterfly wings hair band

A friend asked me to make a Tinkerbell style hair band for her daughter... I think it went down quite well! I used ribbon scraps and rickrack, plus some cute spotty buttons on a triple layer felt butterfly. The hair band is covered in pink satin ribbon.

Easy peasy skirt - with elephants!

My daughter was so excited when she saw this! I love the fabric and had just enough to make this skirt - which is basically a tube of material, with elastic sewn into the top hem. I even managed to do French seams!!! I used the pink trim to give it a bit of detail. I can't wait to try making some more of these - they look great on their own or over leggings on cooler summer days!

Pretty summer dress

I've just finished making this simple little dress for my toddler. For the fabric, I used an old skirt of mine (the zip was broken). I have always loved the feel of the fabric - it's really soft and comfy to wear and couldn't bear to part with it, so this seemed like a good solution! It's a basic 'drawstring bag' design with arm holes. I added elasticated straps and elastic at the neckline to bring it all together, then to finish I added the buttons as decoration. It looks great over a vest on cooler days and should fit her for a while as it can be worn as a top with trousers or leggings as she gets taller! With the left over fabric, I'm going to try making a matching dress for her doll...

Here's a lovely selection of strawberry themed items I've been working on! They are now making a very mouth watering display on my stall!

Patchwork dress

I wanted to make a dress for my little girl - this was quite hard work and I'm sure I over complicated it, but I really enjoyed making it! I didn't have a pattern - I just made it up as I went along. I've never made a dress before, so I cheated with the top half and sewed the 'skirt' onto a long sleeved top! I made her a matching bag with the left over material. She loves it (phew!).

Fabric toy bag

I made my little girl a fabric toy bag for all her cuddlies to live in - it turned out big enough for her to get into as well! I think if I make another one I'll have to make it a bit smaller and put some interfacing in between the panels to stiffen it a bit. Though this does work quite well as it is. She loves the pockets on the sides - great for putting the tiniest toys in!

My owls are a real hoot!

More owls for the hair salon! They are very popular.

Hair Accessories at local Salon

I haven't blogged much lately, but I have been very busy with custom orders - especially over Christmas. Things have calmed down a bit now, so I've found time to sort through all the photos I've taken of various projects and can start to post them for you to see! The lovely ladies at my local hair and beauty salon are now stocking a range of my felt hair clips. They also asked me to make some hair clip holders. There are more designs on my Folksy page, where you can place an order for one too! Details of the Salon are on the left of this page. The owls are selling particularly well...each one is unique!
